Welcome to the introduction of the U.S. military’s new role in Environmental Protection.
Renewable Energy. A hot topic in today’s world. But surprisingly young for its popularity. In 1980 Fossil Fuel was projected to take us far into the future, but ever rising gas prices have caused researchers to look into alternate energy. Environmental groups got into it trying to put an end to the pollution generated by power plants.
By the early 90’s, some scientists and journalists were claiming that the technology to produce all of our energy from the earth, wind, water, and sun were already available.
Your military has taken a more active role in protecting our environment. All U.S. Military installations within U.S. borders are currently working on making their respective bases mostly if not completely self-sufficient on these energy sources. Our hope is to make bases less expensive to maintain and less harmful to the environment.
